Is there a hyena? in the audience ?
By: KuDeGrasBonVoyage. on 22 Feb 12, 13:51:11
@greagandev Me3, I have been studying this for years looking for better understanding. Nice way to lay it out, SP RSA!? I wish there was a whole series on this area..The applied psychology of innuendo's.Double entendre's,Doublespeak,Pun's,Word play, etc.

By: timtfj. on 16 Feb 12, 16:10:09
@unofficialdear For the second time: 1. I don't find the drawings distracting. 2. I like the drawings. 3. I think the visual element is helpful. 4. However, I do? find THE ARM distracting. For me it gets in the way OF THE DRAWINGS. I find the arm, which I don't want to look at, a distraction from the drawings, which I do want to look at. There are two competing visual stimuli. The drawings communicate. The arm doesn't.
By: unofficialdear. on 16 Feb 12, 04:10:36
@timtfj I think the point is to attract a wider or more visual audience..and make it kind of fun. If you don't like it, just listen to it? and don't watch the video. To me the drawings aren't distracting, they add a visual element that make it more entertaining, while I'm being taught something. I'm sure if classes where taught like this, people would probably pay more attention.

shit I think I know why I don't have a? girlfriend
By: timtfj. on 11 Feb 12, 21:57:28
@Minajiesu No no. I agree about the drawings: the problem for me is that *the hand* distracts me both from the speech and from the drawings. I want to see the drawings without a great big hand moving? around in front of them. The hand is extraneous to the message.
By: Minajiesu. on 11 Feb 12, 21:48:35
@timtfj It's exactly the opposite. As this is a video on language uses, it should be noted that drawing what's being said is a way of anchoring attention to the matter, as a faceless voice with no drawings would? be hard to keep up to some people in some moments. It also structurize thinking in a intuitive way that fills up the speech with more than vocal information.

Does everyone know that the word "emperor" was spelt wrong? Maybe i? shouldnt have pointed that out?
By: timtfj. on 10 Feb 12, 20:13:46
This is excellent. But I'd find it more excellent without the scribbling hand---it's quite distracting and is the only? element of the video which doesn't communicate content. (It communicates "Look at me! I'm drawing!")
By: Kihany1. on 07 Feb 12, 20:28:39
@shammyshity with explicit language, now it's collective knowledge. lol?

THe bit where he is talking about revolutions can also apply to the internet as well. Where a person points out something on say Facebook, he is making it clear how he feels, allowing? others to show they feel similarly, making internet forums, effectively an online public square.

By: Badhabitsjay. on 04 Feb 12, 14:50:23
@lamerizzle? If she turned around tomorrow and said she has feelings for you you would not turn her down. You are not in a platonic relationship. Now you are also lying to yourself.
By: FreeFromWar. on 04 Feb 12, 08:20:02
There was nothing in this video that? I didn't already know but now that it's explained to me, now I KNOW that I know ;)
By: lamerizzle. on 04 Feb 12, 03:22:31
@Badhabitsjay I don't pretend to be friends with people. Your speculation on my current friendship is just that, speculation. Just because I was? initially interested in an intimate relationship with someone doesn't mean that it's impossible for me to be currently engaged in a mutually platonic relationship with them today. Thanks for trying to tell someone that you've never met that they are lying about a situation that you know only the most basic details about.
By: Badhabitsjay. on 04 Feb 12, 01:46:46
@lamerizzle That's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that pretending to be someone's friend when what you really what is sexual isn't a friendship at all, it's a lie. One? person thinks they're in a friendship, the other person has ulterior motivations. Meet someone and find them attractive? Not making the intentions of your interactions clear in some way is manipulation and a lie. It allows the other person to think an interaction is platonic when it is not.
By: lamerizzle. on 04 Feb 12, 00:59:26
@Badhabitsjay So in your opinion sexual attraction cannot exist outside of a relationship? There are plenty of women I am sexually attracted to, should I stop being friends with them because we aren't dating? I don't see the validity? of what you are trying to say here.
By: Badhabitsjay. on 29 Jan 12, 20:40:30
@lamerizzle It however? either makes you a liar, or a boy being used.
By: lamerizzle. on 29 Jan 12, 19:32:39
@Badhabitsjay I have a friendship with a girl who I? initially, and still am, sexually attracted to, but I wouldn't trade our current friendship for anything. I guess what I'm trying to say is, even if you aren't successful with your first motive it doesn't mean that something great can't come out of it.
